Brookwood Grill

I just got home from a shoot in Roswell, Ga. If you read my older post, you know that I was very disappointed with the first shoot at Brookwood Grill. I didn't scout the restaurant ahead of time and was unprepared.

Today was completely opposite. I worked with Jesse Gideon, the head chef for F2O as well as Brookwood Grill, and Matt Fairley, GM of Brookwood Grill. We had a great time and I really like how the pictures turned out.

Check them out on Brookwood Grill's new and improved website: http://www.brookwoodgrill.com/

Over The Weekend

Wow. So for the first time, I scheduled a shoot a day for four consecutive days. All but one of them were for a project I'm working on for church. I had a great time getting to know people I didn't know before and spending a little extra time with people I did.

The project is for the "Songs of Faith" series we'll be starting on June 28th. This series is geared toward educating people on the significance of hymns. I wasn't raised in the church, so this will be the first time I look at why hymns are so great. Singing hymns is sometimes difficult for me. Most of the time I feel as though I'm just reading someone else's words (who actually uses "thou" in a sentence now a days). I've visited too many churches where that's just what they do..get out the hymn book...turn to hymn number such and so...sing/read...close the book...sit down...listen to the sermon...and leave feeling like they've fufilled their Sunday obligation.

I accepted Christ as my savior in 2004. Christianity is not just "my religion"...its a real truth that can be tested and proven. Music is one of the main ways I lift praise to my Father. I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to teach me through this.

Marcus William Barnes

Exactly one week ago, my best friend gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. After being in labor for 73 hours she successfully delivered with a VBAC. There are no words that can capture the emotions I felt over those days. Jamey is one of the closest people to my heart. Four days after the birth, I visited her and Eric at their home and did my first infant shoot. Jamey is doing VERY well and looks amazing.
